MARBELLA
With 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s no wonder that so many people make the Costa del Sol their favourite spot to buy a holiday home. There are a hundred and one reasons why this place attracts people from the four corners of the world.

Marbella is one of the important cities for tourism in the Costa del Sol attracting both international and local tourists due to its climate, infrastructure and quality hotel accommodation and facilities not to mention the marvellous and internationally recognised golf courses, counting 15 in Marbella alone.
With all the interesting places and activities on offer, it is hard to find a reason to get bored. There are a host of activities one can embark on, be it country walks, exploring the lovely countryside, you can hire a convertible luxury car and enjoy the drive through the scenic country roads, visit and see picturesque white villages inland away from the coast or practice more active pursuits which abound along the coast.
The city of Marbella offers places of great interest especially the Old Town dating back to the Moorish settlement when the Muslims converted it into a walled city where they constructed a castle the ruins of which can still be seen today. Another feature of the Old Town is the Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Square) not only lined by hundreds of orange trees from where it gets its name but the most famous of restaurants also can be found here. More importantly this is where the Town Hall is located which overlooks this charming and famous square. The many churches are also attracting interest from local and international tourists.
All throughout the year Marbella celebrates a number of fiestas, a fiesta could last a few days to a week where the population engage in dancing flamenco in the streets, drinking and being merry and other activities such as competitions organized by the local council or associations.
For those who prefer the more active pursuits, there is an abundant supply of golf courses where one can never be far away from a golf course. Tennis clubs also abound and of course there’s the nautical activity from it’s famous port of Puerto Banus.
Marbella offers a wide and varied nightlife with plenty of entertainment to enjoy especially in the summer season when a multitude of tourists arrive on the Costa del Sol tripling the population. Grand exclusive parties of international fame where the rich and famous celebrate in elite establishments dotted around the area seem to be the norm during the season.
